Red shouldered hawks working the bird feeder zone, but this one nabbed a bullfrog.

Everytime hawk tore at soft neck flesh, frog's hind leg twitched, just like high school science demo.
Yes, hawk is standing in low limb near feeders, for the pleasure of the effect on audience of songbirds, I assume.

15 degrees last night & this guy teetered against the window, so stunned that he didn't flinch when my hand neared & wrapped 'round.  Light body, little heart.
A couple of hours inside in the sun & off he shot from open cage held out open window.
