Speaking of Garden of Eden, I saw the water snake who lives in the artisian well for the first and second time this season today.

Wood duck pair rolled through this afternoon; wood duck house occupied by sleeping racoon.  Moved on after 10 minutes again this year.

influx of ducks

Several hundred lesser scaups landed this morning, settling in for their share of Lake Chickahominy winter now that duck hunting season is over.  The scaups cruise, dive, & drift; making being a duck seem super fun.  Geese allow the much small scaups plenty of room; super bad scaups.
