year of the predator

We've been watching the predators - the osprey, the peewee, the fishermen.
What DOES the fish think at the moment he's grabbed by the osprey?

working in our area

favorite this month is the pee wee, works the west side of the yard in the morning & the east in the afternoon
thorough
accurate
acrobatic
tail flicker
regular perches include this sapling, the clothesline, & a naked oak branch

one of a pair of green herons, working along the dock
shy, skittish, amazing every time they're startled away
abrupt & awkward, in launch & flight
steady hunter

proliferation of bunnies

classico supineseductive this year, more than ever it seems, they're everywhere, all over the city & throughout the country, along the roadside, zipping across our street, dwelling in the yard, almost fearless, wide eyed, alert, hungry, living life

two permits - does this qualify as two blinds?

orange umbrellas

We're tickled orange with our new sun umbrella gift.
Were a bit nervous about its bold swath but pleased all around.

Then we spotted this fashion forward duo fishing on the Chick. Clearly, orange is all the rage, even after hunting season.

Watch List - foodchain

Peewee chasing green dragonfly & missing, repeatedly.
Beak closing sounds like cupped clapping hands.
Dragonfliy chasing & catching Mayfly.
Together they are dancers, pursuer & pursued, swirling, darting, pausing, resuming.

Good deal for us.
