I was looking at that & then I saw this

I went out to get a picture of this guy

doing this (head in ground, removing eggs we had watched a turtle lay this afternoon, perhaps the last turtle layer of the summer)


and doing this with his turtle egg trophy


And I sat down next to this


and realized I was under the oak tree branch where

the barred owl had been hanging out a few nights this week , & obviously digesting
