hunting, not gathering


Red shouldered hawks working the bird feeder zone, but this one nabbed a bullfrog.
Everytime hawk tore at soft neck flesh, frog's hind leg twitched, just like high school science demo.
Yes, hawk is standing in low limb near feeders, for the pleasure of the effect on audience of songbirds, I assume.

grey tree frog



The remarkable thing about a grey tree frog
is that on silvery metal, he'll turn silver.
I did have to touch him.
He didn't really like that.
