at my night window


Dusk, locking up chickens, saw creatures commuting to their window spots:  jumbo toad kicking out debris to move from daytime cubby under the woodpile; tree frog, still brown from hiding in there too all day, small hopping to window edge; influx of moths.

grey tree frog



The remarkable thing about a grey tree frog
is that on silvery metal, he'll turn silver.
I did have to touch him.
He didn't really like that.
